The Darnell School for Educational and Behavioral Services stands on four pillars of independence:
- Evidence Based Practice: All academic instruction is based upon evidence based strategies to promote optimal learning
- Learning in Community: Our campus encourages skill-building in the community
- Family-Centered: We work with you to identify those skills that are needed for your student to succeed at home
- Vocational Development: Your student will benefit from vocational, career development and self-management skills
Using Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), our team of skilled teachers and clinicians partners with each family, assesses each student’s needs and develops individualized curricula that promote independence and skill development.
In operation since 2006, The Darnell School offers a fully approved special education program, certified by the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Second Education’s Office of Approved Special Educational Schools and aligned with the Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks. This ensures our students have access to the same learning strands as students in public schools.
The Darnell School is part of the broad spectrum of services provided by Advocates, a non-profit organization that believes in the values, dreams and potential of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
